The Church of St Michael & All Angels, Askerswell

Introduction

St Michael & All Angels St Michael & All Angels

Askerswell is one parish in the Eggardon and Colmer's Benefice. Other parishes in the Benefice are Loders,
Powerstock and Symondsbury. The Benefice has eight churches and every Sunday there is a choice of Services
and everyone is very welcome to come to any of our churches.

Our Rector is the Reverend Chris Grasske

The congregation has a team of bell ringers that reminds all of when a service is to be held in the church. Other visiting ringers often enjoy the fine set of bells.

The Church has a West Tower dating from the 15th Century and a late 12th Century Norman font. The Nave, North aisle, chancel and South porch
were rebuilt in 1858, in Perpendicular style. The building is Grade II and it has an interesting history which is detailed elsewhere on the website.

There is a current project to upgrade the facilities in the area beneath the tower and so widen the scope of events held in the church.
