PARKING CLOSE TO THE SQUARE
Unfortunately there have been instances when the School Bus could not turn around readily because of parked cars. Please keep the
junction free.

Superfast Broadband:
The first phase has resulted in coils of cable appearing on telephone poles. Unfortunately technical issues have been encountered
in delivering the second phase. John and Howard will continue to seek updates on progress.

The Landslip between Askerswell and Uploders :
The Uploders road is to re-open in the early summer. Late January work will start to clear vegetation and build a new retaining
wall. Earthworks to shape a route through a neighbouring field away from the landslide will begin in April with the new section
of road and landscape works completed in time for an intended re-opening in early summer.

PlusBus Service:
Dorset Community Transport is operating a new PlusBus Minibus from Maiden Newton to Bridport.
At present the Friday bus travels through Askerswell but does not stop. You would have to register your name, address and telephone
number, phone before 2.30 pm the previous day to book your seat and at present it costs £5 return. If you are interested to
find out more please call Mel on 01258287980. This service is not restricted to the elderly. Bus passes are not accepted at the present time.

Askerswell has won the Best Small Village Competition.
Congratulations to Jessamy, Howard and all willing helpers.
Have you any ideas on what to spend the prize money? It must be something to enhance the village to the sum of £200.
