Defibrillator Training (and lots of updates!)

Defib Training TONIGHT!!

Bestest Villagers,

So much to get through, so little talent!! Firstly – please remember the Defibrillator refresher course is at 7.30 this evening… see you there!

Secondlary – the deadlinement for booking up for the BARBECUE is coming up – please see the flyer attached which has all the details… but if you haven’t yet booked up for it, please do so by the 10th or there might not be burgery sustenance for you on the day… and that would be terrible. And we simply don’t allow terrible in Askerswell.

Thirdsome, Several of you have asked about the GARAGE SALE – this IS going ahead and, in order to get at least two chances of promoting it in the ECV, it needs to be in July at the earliest, or August… or at a stretch September (but the weather may be against us…) so we propose the following dates… July 26th or August 9th. Please let me know which works best for you… and we will go with the majority. Or consider September if neither works for anybody. Let the Cat Herding begin!!

Fourthingtons – Please see below a notice about a proposed development – a Barn / Storage unit at Down Farm. If you click the link (here) it takes you to the application and you can view the details. Please send me any comments and we can discuss at the upcoming Parish Meeting (under item 08/25).

Fifthsbury – The Parish Meeting – is TWO WEEKS away (SO exciting!!) on the 15th of May at 7.30. Please see the papers (Agenda/Financial Statement) here. They will also be available on the Notice Board. I would be very grateful if those of you who report on the various items covered could prepare your notes ready for the meeting (and if you wanted to email them in advance, that would be double super as it makes the minutes so much easier – hurrah and thank you). Please note that I have not done a separate paper on the budget for 25 / 26 as I do not propose any change to the Precept – and there are quite enough attachments already!

Sixily – One final attachment about a PLANNED ROAD CLOSURE – yes, I know I said there were already too many attachments… (Klingons? Clip ons? Click ons?…. whatever) but this will affect us all… it’s so that Wessex Water can “repair dry fire hydrant” [sic] between 1st and 3rd July, from The Square to Green Acres Farm, some 290 metres. Crikey.

Finallitysburysome – and I can tell you have had quite enough – I just want to take this opportunity to say a few thank yous… to Kathy and the team on the Village Lunches – yesterday was an absolute triumph and I once again urge any of you that haven’t become regular attendees to consider it very strongly. Sadly yesterday’s roast lamb was the last this year but I look forward to the autumn when the Lunches will start up again. And thank you to everyone who turns up, joins in and helps out at all of our events – that make Askerswell such a wonderful place to live.

See you up the Hall later – HURRAH!
