The Annual General Meeting of the Askerswell Village Hall is due to be held on Thursday 18th June at 7.30pm in the hall (7pm for coffee/tea). As usual there will be reports on the past year, plans for the rest of 2026, a brief look at the hall finances and a chance to discuss anything else connected to the hall. Everyone is welcome to attend and it is your opportunity to give feedback on thoughts you may have on how the hall runs or ask any questions. This is also the time for the trustees for the next 12 months to be elected. The trustees have the responsibility of looking after the hall on behalf of the community. For anyone considering becoming a trustee, we currently meet about every three months or as required and we would be delighted to hear from you. If you are not aware, events are organised by a separate group, known as VEG (Village Entertainment Group) and they put together the ‘events program’, sort out the details and generally ask both the Village Hall Trustees and those on the Parochial Church Council to help at events if they are available, with any profits being split between the two organisations.
If you are interested in becoming a trustee for the Village Hall, please fill in the form below and either let Elaine Ballard or any trustee member have it, or bring it along to the meeting.
The current trustees are: Lara Altree, Elaine Ballard (secretary), Geoff Barrett, Harry Coutts, Mike Green (chair – outgoing), Mandy Hall, David Wintle. Please get in touch with any one of us for further information or come along to the AGM to find out more. We are looking for people in particular who would consider taking on the role of overseeing a maintenance check list, or health & safety – but a settling in period before committing to anything and seeing how the committee works is also fine.
